It has been a wonderful Christmas day. We have all the kids here and baby Elijah. It has been a long time since we have been together for Christmas and it feels great. I love how our children all seem to enjoy each other. It is also great to see how Ryan and Thomas fit in so well. We have mostly eaten and played games. Presents always take a long time since we go one by one. They are so thoughtful in their gifts to each other. They have always enjoyed giving.
Also today, we were able to see three people baptized. A white Christmas. Carolee and Kyle in our ward, and Nina in the Spanish branch. Carolee has had some of her lessons in our home and I have really enjoyed watching her life change. She hasnt had an easy life and had become a bit of a recluse in some ways. But she has really opened up to others and has seen herself very differently as she has learned and accepted that she is a daughter of her Heavenly Father who loves her. Kyle is her 10 year old son. He is great! They also have a 16 year old who Geoffrey has spent some time with. They really enjoy each other. He isn't ready at this point to make any committments church wise.
The missionaries were so excited about being able to see someone baptized Christmas day. No better day to make promises to follow the Savior.
Everyone is still up playing a game (except for Angela who fell asleep on the couch), but I am going to bed. Very tired, but very happy!
How wonderful to have everyone there-wow! And thanks for the new meaning of a White Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWe have been enjoying having Melissa, Amy and Hillary home. Jordan and Amber spent Christmas in AZ, but we have talked a lot, and have done many ichat's-so wonderful. Dan has been called as the 1st counselor in our stake presidency here-about 2 months ago-it has been exciting! I teach gospel doctrine every other week-it's challenging for sure! Jordan was the priest's quorum advisor in his ward, and is now the 2nd counselor in his elders quorum, and his wife Amber in a counselor in the primary presidency-it really keeps them busy!
Love to you all-be well!
